Use the Installer to install the printer software onto your hard disk. The Installer copies the printer drivers (Serial and AppleTalkツョ) and background printing files to the correct locations in your System Folder. If the installer finds a file that has the same name as the one it is installing, it replaces that file with the most current version.
When the Installer installs the printer software on your hard disk, it also increases the Finder memory allocation to 400K. If the Finder is locked, it would prevent the Installer from increasing the Finder memory. (See your Macintosh System documentation for more detailed information on the Finder).
The driver installer provides two options: Easy Install and Customize.
Using the Easy Install
Use the Easy Install option to install all of the printer software in the correct locations on your hard disk. To use the Easy option, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your computer is turned on.
2. Restart your computer while holding down the Shift key.
This turns off any system extensions that might cause
conflicts during the installation process.
3. Insert the DW 600 Series 7.2.4 disk and double-click the
Installer icon.
4. Click the Continue button.
5. Read the licensing agreement and click "Accept" to continue or "Cancel"
to quit the installation.
6. Make sure that the hard disk named on the Installer screen is the one on
which you want to install the printer software. If the wrong hard disk is named,
click the Switch Disk button until the correct hard disk name appears.
7. Click the Install button.
8. The Installer will display a warning message if other applications are running.
Click the Continue button to continue the installation. When the installation
process is complete, the Installer displays a message indicating the
installation was successful.
9. Click the Restart button to restart your computer.
Refer to your printer's User Guide for more information on using the Easy Install.
